I was caught by the title of this article on the HBR blog: The Unimportance of Practically Everything. I do tend to think that most things are relatively unimportant, and that a lot of the angst we experience on a daily basis arises from under-attending to the important stuff and over-focusing on the unimportant. The article was not a disappointment: Greg McKeown reviews the 80-20 rule in the context of our social-media-infused, over-amped, multitasking-mania’d lives, and reminds us that all activity is not equal in terms of the results it produces.
