Journey of Kindness

Been doing some study on one particular fruit of the Spirit since I’ll be speaking on it soon. Here it is.

Kindness.

The other guys on the pastoral team seem to think that I should be able to speak with authority on this subject, but I can’t help but feel inadequate. I know my heart, how I’m prone to judge, internally burn with anger, jealously and just be plain ‘ole lazy when I could help someone and don’t.

So, I’m on a journey of discovery of what kindness really is first of all and how that the Spirit can produce a kindness in me that’s nothing short of supernatural.

The first ideas have come from scriptures that talk of people that didn’t recognize nor appreciate the kindness of God…kind of like a spoiled kid who doesn’t like the most precious birthday gift he got because he wanted something frivolous…been there.

So here’s the first passage in my journey of discovery.

Job 10:12 You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.

Just the fact that we’re alive is testament to the kindness of God…we don’t HAVE to be!!!

Has there been a time where you’ve felt the kindness of God? Tell me in your comments!!!

This hit home with me. The fact that I am alive is a testament to the fact that God is kind to me. Without going into detail because that is irrelevant, God was kind enough to save me from myself and show me that life is worth living.
