Helping the homeless sounds simple, but it can get really complicated. Just ask BBH New York!

The same goes for installing software, building websites and setting up Sunday morning sound. It sounds simple, but it really isn’t. Otherwise, any ol’ church member would be doing it.

Now, watch as Tom Mabe feeds the homeless in a very unique way:

Isn’t it amazing how the perception of the homeless guys on the street went from being ignored to free coffee and donuts?

Just by changing the perception?

They weren’t really police officers and if Tom Mabe would have called and ask them to feed the homeless guys in front of their store, free coffee would have never happened.

Church IT peeps, you need to adjust your perception. Stop treating n00bs and non-techies like they have no residence on the digital landscape. Sure, you know more, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore them, put them down or treat them as inferiors. Take every opportunity you have to graciously serve.

After all, it’s your gift!

Carry on.

;-)
